Privacy Policy for New Tab from Webdoka

• Your bookmarks, folders, notes, tags, and thumbnails are stored locally in your browser.
• Optional Google Drive sync stores a backup file in your Google Drive - not on Webdoka servers.
• We collect limited anonymous technical/usage analytics to improve the product.
• We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Content you create in the Extension - including visual bookmarks (clips), folders, notes, tags, display settings, backgrounds, and related thumbnails - is stored locally in the browser (chrome.storage and IndexedDB) and remains under your control.

If you use optional import from Chrome bookmarks, the Extension reads your browser bookmark tree only after you grant permission and only to import items you choose into the Extension’s local library.

If you enable Google sign-in and sync in Settings, the Extension may back up and restore your library using the Google Drive API. This is optional; the Extension works without Drive.

• What is synced: folders, bookmarks (including titles, URLs, notes, tags, selected folder), and related preview images needed to restore the board.
• Where it is stored: a visible file such as Webdoka New Tab.json in your Google Drive (My Drive), created by the Extension.
• Where it is not stored: Webdoka does not receive or host a copy of your bookmark library on our servers for this sync feature.
• Access scope: we use the limited Google OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file, which allows access only to files the Extension creates or that you open with the Extension - not your entire Drive.
• Sign-in: authentication uses Chrome Identity / Google OAuth with your Chrome profile Google account. We may request basic profile scopes (email and profile) so the Extension can show which account is connected. Tokens are handled by Chrome; you can disconnect in the Extension or revoke access in your Google Account settings.
• Language, wallpaper choice, widget preferences, zoom, and similar UI settings are generally not synced to Drive and stay on the device.

Google’s processing of Drive data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Separately from your library, the Extension may send limited non-identifying technical and usage data to Webdoka-controlled servers to improve functionality and reliability. This may include:

• anonymous installation identifier (install_id)
• extension version
• browser and platform information
• interface language
• basic usage events (such as opening the new tab page and selected display mode)

This analytics stream is not used to build advertising profiles or to track you across third-party websites. We do not intentionally collect your browsing history, webpage content, or search queries through this Extension.

We process information only to:

• provide the new-tab bookmark board and related features
• optionally sync your library to your Google Drive at your request
• understand aggregate usage, improve performance and stability, and fix errors

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or bookmark data with third parties for advertising or unrelated analytics. Bookmark library data synced via Drive stays between your browser and your Google account.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use: User data obtained through the Extension (including via Chrome permissions and Google APIs) is used only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the Extension’s single purpose. We do not use this data to serve advertisements, for creditworthiness or lending decisions, or transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the Extension’s features (for example, sending your backup file to Google Drive when you enable sync), to comply with law, or for security/abuse investigation.

The Extension may open external websites when you click saved bookmarks or catalog links, and may load optional public content (such as wallpaper or service catalogs) from Webdoka CDN hosts. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites you visit.

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect analytics data in transit and at rest. Local and Drive-stored library data remains under your account and device controls; revoke Google access or sign out of Drive sync at any time in Settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Extension evolves. Updates will be published on this page.
